BigCommerce has teamed up with Meta or still commonly known as Facebook to make checkout on Instagram available!
People can now buy the products they discover on Instagram and Checkout easily and secure. When a visitor taps to view a product from your shopping post, they’ll see a “Checkout on Instagram” button on the product page. When they tap it to select from various options such as size or colour, they’ll proceed to payment without leaving Instagram. They only need to enter their name, email, billing information and shipping address the first time they check out. Once the first order is complete, information will be securely saved for convenience for the next time they shop. They’ll also receive shipment and delivery notifications on the right inside Instagram, so the purchase can be tracked. Prior to this Instagram release, a customer would be taken out of their Instagram account to an ecommerce site to complete a purchase which was not a seamless experience for the customer and increased the likelihood that they will drop off before your site opens. Now, customers can make purchases directly on Instagram, it creates a better experience for them creating more upside for you and your BigCommerce website.
